There is POWER in words!
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” — Proverbs 18:21
A very interesting scientific experiment in Japan with schoolchildren participants attests to the power of words, good or bad.
Two identical jars were filled with cooked rice and labeled.
To one jar, the children were to say kind, nurturing words. But to the other jar, they were to say negative things such as “you fool!”.
Each day, they said these things to the respective jars. After a few days, the results were astonishing.
The rice in the jar which received the verbal insults had turned sooty gray and moldy.
However, the rice in the jar to which had been spoken verbal compliments and kind words maintained a light, creamy color, with no sign of decay.
Likewise, as Proverbs 18:21 proclaims, we can speak to our situations, either with words of death, or with words of life. Either we can lament and complain about our lot in life, or we can speak words of encouragement and blessing to ourselves and others.
The Bible mentions a time when David's own men were planning to stone him to death over the loss of their families. Yet, David strengthened (encouraged) himself in the LORD, even in the most difficult of circumstances (1 Samuel 30:6).
We have a decision to make. May we make the right choice and forsake words of death and instead, speak words of LIFE, starting today!

Affirmation of Faith:
YOUR IDENTITY AS A CHILD OF GOD
The following was adapted from an affirmation from Rev. Kenny Foreman, Senior Pastor, Cathedral of Faith in San Jose, Calif.:
"This is the day the Lord has made;
I will REJOICE and be glad in it!
For great is our God,
and greatly is He to be PRAISED.
I'M HIS CHILD,
I'm an heir with God
and a JOINT-HEIR with Jesus Christ,
and I am seated in heavenly places with Him.
THEREFORE,
NO WEAPON that's formed against me shall prosper.
The weapons of my warfare
they're not carnal,
but they are MIGHTY through God
to the pulling down of enemy strongholds.
I am MORE than a conqueror.
I am VICTORIOUS,
because I walk by FAITH and not by sight.
And GREATER is HE that is within me,
than he that is in the world."
AMEN &
AMEN &
AMEN!!!
SO BE IT, LORD JESUS! HALLELUJAH!

PROCLAMATION OF HEALING
The following affirmation was shared by Rev. David Kiteley, Senior Pastor, Shiloh Christian Fellowship, Oakland, Calif.:
I boldly proclaim that I am redeemed
from the curse of the law.
I am delivered from all the powers
of darkness and oppression.
The Greater One — JESUS — dwells in me,
and I have made His Word my foundation.
Heavenly Father, I present my body to You.
I charge my body, by the authority of Your Word,
to be healed and made whole in Jesus’ name!
I forbid sickness and disease
from operating in my body,
for this body is a temple of the Holy Ghost.
You sent Your Word and healed me.
Your Word is transforming my body,
causing growths to disappear
and sicknesses to flee.
I will fear no evil, for the Spirit of God is upon me,
and the Word of God is within me.
No weapon formed against me will prosper,
and through Christ, I will prevail!
Hallelujah!

Affirmation
Father, I commit my day to you. I trust also in You and You shall bring it to pass. (Psalm 37:5)
Father, You will instruct me and teach me in the way I should go. You will guide me with Your eye. You will give me the desires of my heart, when I have delighted myself in You. (Psalm 32:8, 37:4)
Father, I will be kept in perfect peace today, for I have chosen to let my mind be "stayed" on You. Make it a reality in my life as I trust in You. (Isaiah 26:3)
Father, I will walk in good health and strength as my day demands. I take authority over satan. He will not steal or rob or destroy me any more, nor will he harass me, for I am the righteousness of God through Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior. (Deuteronomy 33:25, Luke 10:17-19, 2 Corinthians 5:21)
Father, I thank you for sending angels to prepare the way for me. I thank you for favor for each hour's appointment. I thank you that I can choose Life and Love and not death and sin. I thank You for the armor I have on to protect me, and I thank You that I am covered by the blood of Jesus. (Exodus 23:20, Joshua 24:15, Ephesians 6:10-17, 1 John 1:17)
Father, I thank you that I walk in newness of life this day. (Romans 6:4)
In Jesus' name, AMEN!
